WE ARE A PRIVATE STUDIO

This means that we do not take walk-ins, and doors are closed to the public, only allowing clients (and their guests) in for appointments. You will only be able to book an appointment with an artist when their books are open, via a booking request form here on our website. Some artists keep their books open, while some open and close their books at their own discretion.

If the artist you want to get tattooed by has their books closed, you can join our mailing list on our home page, and/or follow @KARMAKNIFE or the individual artist on Instagram and turn on notifications— we always post details when an artist opens their books. You may also check the website at any time for details on when an artist’s books will open.

BOOKING REQUESTS

To book an appointment with one of our artists, you will need to fill out a booking request form. Booking request forms are only live on our website when an artist’s books are open, during the specified dates and times, and will not be available otherwise. The form(s) will remain live on our website until the artist’s books close— at which time, the form will disappear.

Artists’ books open and close at their own discretion. To keep up with these openings and closures, you can subscribe to our mailing list via our home page. You may also follow our artists’ individual Instagrams (@sammraee, @peanutbrittles, @clwnslvt, @sun.eater.ink, @blackmeddle), and the shop Instagram (@karmaknife).

Sometimes we can not accept every request that comes our way, either due to the sheer amount that we receive, or if we think that the project is better suited for another artist. We may recommend you to someone else. We place importance in the client’s desire to get tattooed by an artist because you love their work and because their style fits your project.

Please be patient when waiting for your artist to get back to you. KEEP YOUR EYES OUT FOR AN EMAIL RESPONSE & CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL!

DEPOSITS + CANCELLATIONS/RESCHEDULING

A deposit is required to book an appointment. Each artist has their own deposit policy, and will give you their individual deposit information upon acceptance of your booking request. If your artist does not receive a deposit, your appointment will not be booked.

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE upon cancellation.

If you need to reschedule, please try to do so AT LEAST 2 weeks in advance if possible. We understand that life happens, so we do our best to honor deposits for rescheduled appointments, but this is on a case-by-case basis. Your artist reserves the right to ask for another deposit for a rescheduled appointment.

If you miss your appointment without contacting your artist, you are considered a no-call no-show and you will not get your deposit back. You will need to put down another deposit to make another appointment. No exceptions. Your artist also reserves the right to choose not to reschedule you after a no-show.

We have a 30 minute grace period for late appointments. Please contact your artist if you are going to be late. If you show up late with no heads up, we will consider your appointment cancelled and you will not get your deposit back.

CONSULTATIONS

An in-person consultation may be necessary before your appointment if your artist is fitting a design in between other tattoos, designing large scale work, or if the design wraps at all. Your artist will let you know in their response to your booking request if a scheduled consultation is necessary.

DESIGN CHANGES

Some of our artists may not reveal designs to clients until the time of their appointment. Trust in your artist is an important part of our process. However, if there is ANYTHING that you do not like about your design, please be 100% honest! At the end of the day, it is your tattoo that will be on you forever!

Minor changes and adjustments to designs can be made on the spot at the time of the appointment.

In the event that the entire design needs to be completely reworked, a reschedule may be necessary.

Any subject matter changes are handled at the artist’s discretion. Our artists generally accept booking requests based on the proposed subject matter, so a change in subject matter could result in a cancelled appointment.
